Unlock Your LSAT Potential
Out of any number of overused and overstretched adages that have followed you through every academic and athletic pursuit thus far in life, one stands above the rest for me as particularly pernicious:
“Practice Makes Perfect”
With no personal offense directed toward the sixth American President, John Quincy Adams—whose diary contained the first official record of the Latin phrase uses promptos facit translated as such into English—the phrase ‘practice makes perfect’ is easily one of the biggest lies that people tell themselves, and one of the most important mental messages to deprogram if you truly wish to reach your full LSAT potential.
Practicing absolutely does not lead to perfection. That is, unless you are practicing perfectly. Far too many LSAT students have driven themselves to the brink of insanity by repeating the same incorrect methods and processes over and over and wondering why the score increase never seems to come. After all, in the famous words of Albert Einstein, “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
To save your sanity, your time, and eventually your LSAT score, it’s imperative to make sure that the core component of your LSAT study is to learn the proper methodologies to unlock the strategies for success across every obstacle on the exam. Logical Reasoning and (believe it or not, even) the Reading Comprehension sections are beholden to recognizable and repetitive clear-cut patterns. Finding the proper curriculum to isolate and identify the mechanics behind every motion is the best way to build success on the LSAT.
Without the clarity that comes with understanding the precise why behind every right and wrong answer, bad patterns of reasoning never get properly addressed and removed. To avoid the pitfalls of practicing imperfectly, don’t consider any LSAT question truly “done” until you’ve found the exact reasoning behind every single answer choice on the PowerScore Forum, our completely free and ludicrously comprehensive online treasure chest filled with pure LSAT gold. Getting an answer right without understanding the clearest (and often, quickest) approach robs you of those major click moments that help you use that same reasoning appropriately and immediately in future situations. The LSAT will always be a gamble, of course, but using the Forum to learn or confirm the rationale behind every response is your best way to shift the odds away from the house and into your favor.
In chasing that perfect understanding of the LSAT, there are so many ways that we at PowerScore can help. From our best-selling books to the recently created and highly regarded Advanced courses, from private one-on-one tutoring with our team of dedicated LSAT experts to our full Prep Course taken in-person, Live Online or even in an On Demand option that offers you ultimate schedule flexibility, the answers to your questions are waiting for you to choose your best way to ask them.
Practice definitely doesn’t make perfect — perfect practice makes perfect. Start unlocking your LSAT potential with PowerScore to make sure all your practice pushes you toward an insanely high score, and not as Einstein defines it, insanity itself.
