The University of Bradford has enhanced several of its legal Master’s programmes through a new collaboration with BARBRI, a global leader in legal education. This collaboration embeds BARBRI’s cutting-edge Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) preparation technology into Bradford’s curriculum, strengthening its commitment to producing highly skilled and professionally prepared graduates.
The partnership spans Bradford’s innovative LLM courses, including International Corporate Law and Governance, International Human Rights Law and Development, Natural Resources and Environmental Law and Policy, and International Banking and Financial Technology Law. It is also being offered to final-year law students as part of the integrated MLaw programme. These programmes now integrate BARBRI’s advanced SQE technology, offering students a tailored pathway to solicitor qualification while equipping them with specialist expertise in their chosen fields.
Professor Engobo Emeseh, Head of Law School at the University of Bradford, said, “This partnership with BARBRI reflects our commitment to delivering world-class legal education. By embedding SQE preparation technology across our LLM and MLaw programmes, we are providing students with the tools and support needed to excel in both their academic studies and their professional journeys. This collaboration ensures that our graduates are well-prepared to meet the challenges of an evolving legal profession while also equipping them with expertise in key areas of law.”
Bradford’s LLM courses combine rigorous academic instruction with hands-on practical experience. Through BARBRI’s SQE technology, students benefit from personalised learning plans, diagnostic testing and practice assessments tailored to both SQE1 and SQE2. These tools, coupled with opportunities to work in the University’s Law Clinic on live client cases, provide a comprehensive learning experience that bridges the gap between academic study and professional practice.
Christopher Howard, University Partnership Director at BARBRI, added: “The University of Bradford is demonstrating its commitment to innovative, career-focused education by embedding BARBRI’s SQE preparation technology across its Master’s programmes. This partnership reflects our shared vision of delivering education that prepares students for both qualification and the practical realities of their careers. We are proud to support the University of Bradford in developing graduates who are ready to excel in a competitive legal landscape.”
Bradford’s Law programmes also feature the opportunity to use on-campus resources such as the Lady Hale Court Room, where students hone their advocacy and courtroom skills. The courses emphasise critical areas of law, including corporate governance, human rights, environmental law and financial technology, preparing graduates to pursue a wide range of career opportunities locally and internationally.
The University of Bradford joins a growing list of institutions partnering with BARBRI, including King’s College, Edge Hill, London South Bank, De Montfort, Anglia Ruskin, Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Derby. These collaborations are setting a new benchmark in legal education by combining advanced technology with practical experience to offer students a comprehensive and supportive pathway to solicitor qualification.
