Mr. Blaschke focuses on complex litigation involving scientific or technical issues, as well as general litigation. As a partner in our Environmental and Mass Tort and Toxic Tort practices, he represents energy, pharmaceutical, consumer product and chemical industry clients in state and federal courts throughout the country. Mr. Blaschke's experience ranges from large-scale multiparty litigation to individual product liability actions. He also advises clients on environmental laws and regulations, including the federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act.

Ms. Nesbitt is a nationally recognized formidable litigator who has litigated highly complex environmental matters. Her successes have earned her the distinction of Lawdragon 500’s Leading U.S. Environmental Lawyer. Ms. Nesbitt collaborates with all her clients to find the best business solutions, whether it involves providing detailed strategic advice and tactics, counsel on the advertising and marketing of environmental benefit claims, or fighting for her clients in litigation. She currently serves as co-leader of the firm’s Greenwashing Defense & Litigation practice group.

Mr. Brothers is a member of the firm’s Chambers USA ranked Mass Tort & Product Liability Practice. He is an accomplished attorney, regularly representing clients across a variety of industries in complex commercial and product liability litigation before federal and state courts across the country. Mr. Brothers has represented both U.S. and international corporations across a wide variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, transportation, telecommunications, and manufacturing. In connection with his product liability work, he frequently engages with experts in diverse scientific fields such as pharmacokinetics, pathology, epidemiology, oncology, genetics, and toxicology to develop compelling general and specific causation defenses for his clients.
Description
Microplastics, are alleged to have become ubiquitous in our environment, including infiltration of our water and food supplies. While the long-term health effects of microplastic ingestion remain uncertain, there is nevertheless increasing regulatory scrutiny of microplastics. Government initiatives at both federal and state levels aim to mitigate microplastics pollution, but the effectiveness of these measures is still under evaluation.
The rise in microplastics litigation has also seen numerous cases brought under various legal frameworks. These cases highlight the diverse legal theories employed in these lawsuits.
