This CLE webinar will explore the evolving and complex privacy, legal, and regulatory framework surrounding advertising technology (AdTech). The panel will also provide steps for advising clients on assessing and mitigating privacy risks when using AdTech tools or when negotiating agreements for AdTech services.

Mr. Baker’s cross-disciplinary practice focuses on data privacy, cybersecurity, crisis management, and incident response for a broad range of industries. He is well-versed in multi-jurisdictional privacy compliance; cyber risk identification, mitigation, and response strategies; complex information governance and data management issues; and cross-border electronic discovery. Mr. Baker routinely counsels clients on considerations arising under a wide range of domestic and international privacy and security laws, standards, and best practices. In addition, he has managed dozens of cyber and privacy incidents for multinational companies through all aspects of investigation, remediation, notification, regulatory engagement, and litigation.

Description
AdTech is a term used to describe tools and services used by publishers, advertisers, and their agencies to optimize ad campaigns. As the capabilities of AdTech have evolved, including through AI and advancements in audience creation, targeting, and measurement, challenges concerning a wide variety of privacy, legal, and regulatory issues have also grown.
This has been coupled with an increase in data privacy class actions and regulatory inquiries and enforcements relating to AdTech. To continue moving forward, companies must find ways to remain compliant with the evolving legal and regulatory framework and mitigate their risks.
